Eligibility
To be eligible for the Alumni Postgraduate Scholarship, applicants must:
- be classified as a Home or RUK student for fee purposes.
- hold a degree from the University of Aberdeen (undergraduate or postgraduate).
- be self-funded (not in receipt of another tuition fee scholarship).
- be applying for an eligible taught postgraduate Masters programme.*

The Alumni Postgraduate Scholarship (Home/RUK) applies to all full-time on-campus postgraduate taught Masters programmes across disciplines including business, law, engineering, health sciences, computing, education, and the arts and humanities*.

Postgraduate Conversion Programmes
You could also use this opportunity to study one of our conversion Masters programmes, which enable you to pivot into a new discipline, such as Business, IT, Cybersecurity, Sustainability or Data Science, opening doors to fresh career opportunities and industries.
MBChB Students who are undertaking an eligible Taught Postgraduate Masters programme as part of their Intercalating year are also eligible for the discount.
The Alumni Postgraduate Scholarship can be held alongside a scholarship funded through the University of Aberdeen Development Trust SCIO.
Other Funding Opportunities
University of Aberdeen graduates pursuing programmes not covered under the Alumni Postgraduate Scholarship may be eligible for a 20% discount on tuition fees under the Aberdeen Alumni discount.
Self-funded University of Aberdeen international students may be eligible for an £8,000 tuition fee waiver under the Aberdeen Global Scholarship.
Additional funding may also be available depending on your programme and circumstances.
Application Procedure
There is no separate application required for this scholarship. Eligible students will automatically receive the tuition discount when they accept an offer for an eligible postgraduate Masters programme.
The scholarship is available for postgraduate Masters programmes starting in September 2025 and January 2026. To be considered, applicants must have accepted an offer before the relevant programme start date.
