The University of Aberdeen’s Cancer PhD Programme, led by Professor Anne Donaldson, was a flagship initiative designed to bridge the gap between laboratory research and clinical application. It brought together the strengths of our basic and clinical cancer research communities to drive forward impactful, translational projects.
Students on the programme benefited from a carefully curated series of introductory talks delivered by leading Aberdeen cancer scientists and clinicians, offering an in-depth overview of the local research landscape and fostering early opportunities for collaboration. The programme also featured a dedicated research seminar series, providing a vibrant platform for students to share their findings and engage with invited experts from across the cancer research field.
While this programme is no longer recruiting new students, it remains a proud example of the University’s commitment to collaborative, cutting-edge cancer research and training
