The Sir Duncan Rice Library will reopen on Thursday 07 August at 08.30, closing early at 17.00 on Thursday and Friday. SDRL will remain closed at the weekend but reopen at 08.30 on Monday 11 August. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Joint event with University of Aberdeen Medical Society

Aberdeen Medico-Chirurgical Society, Room 402 Suttie Centre, 7pm, 15th May 2025

The University of Aberdeen 2025 MBChB Graduates, who were awarded Elective Bursaries by the Society to facilitate their final year studies, will be invited to compete for the Adam Quaich by presenting their elective findings to the meeting with the audience selecting the winner.

Presenting this year are:

Yee Tsui - 'Dr Mary Esslemont' - "GRH antagonist potentiates chemotherapeutic response retinoblastoma cells"

Colm F McGurk - 'Prof Hands Kosterlitz' - "Distal femur extra articular fracture morphology: fracture heat mapping to determine the incidence of high risk fracture for construct failure"

Katharine Robertson - 'Sir James McGrigor' - "An observational study of the role of anticipatory care planning in relation to non-beneficial investigations in a New Zealand acute hospital for patients in contact with the hospital palliative care team"

Stephanie Walker - 'Sir Patrick Manson'- "Optimisation of faescial microbiota transplation (FMT) for treatment of dementia'

Imaan Mohammaed - 'Sir Ashley MacIntosh' - 'The incidence of paediatric head and neck malignancy in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia'

Hira Ahmad - 'Prof John Mallard' - "Immigrant, racialised and ethno-culturally diverse communities and community treatment orders: a scoping review"
